My Work
Throughout our time in College Park Media Scholars, every student has created many different assignment analyzing and applying the concepts we have learned in class time. Below are a collection of my favorite assignments from the past year and a half. I believe these assignments truly capture my time in the Media, Self, and Society Scholars program and demonstrate what I have learned discovered
Reflection on Sherry Turkle's Alone Togehter
This assignment, Critical Reflection 2, was our second big assignment in our first semester freshman year CPMS 100 class. This assignment pushed us to reflect on author Sherry Turkle's book, Alone Together. We analyzed how the constant use of technology has affected interactions between humans. I chose to showcase this reflection because it was one of my first times analyzing medias affect on society in an academic manner. Previously, I had never given it much thought, but ever since that assignment and this class I have looked much deeper into media, technology, and there use in society. Further, this assignment shows where I started in this class and will allow you to see how far I have come because of the program.

Group Project Reflection
This assignment is from our group project in the sophomore Media, Self, and Society course CPMS225. I decided to include this reflection because the group project was one of my favorite assignments we have had this year. First, I got to take a deeper look into how the regulation of free speech is handled on social media platforms. This is something I had heard a lot about, but didn't have much knowledge about. This project allowed me to take a deeper look into this debate and find some really interesting information. Second, I really enjoyed my group for this project and I thought we worked really well together, so this product always sticks out in my mind. Also, my group members have become some of my closer friends in the program and this assignment was a chance to get to know them even better.

Fandom and Audience Continuum Essay
Finally, I chose an assignment from this years sophomore CPMS225 class because I believe it shows the steps I have taken in becoming a better student. The activity had us answer a question about fandom and then right a brief essay on Abercrombie and Longhurst's Audience Continuum. I would consider this one of my best pieces of work in all of our time in the class. Not only does it show my improved knowledge on media and the society, it also showcases my improved writing and essay format.
